MY NAME IS RITA GOLDRAJCH I AM THE CREATOR OF THE YOGA IN THE HEART LINE METHOD AND MY STORY IS LINKED TO MY LIVE. I am the daughter of a Jewish father and a liberal mother from Alentejo from a Catholic family. My great-grandfather was a very religious rabbi and my grandmother was a very religious Catholic. When my father married my mother, he ended the lineage of Jewish marriages. By marrying my father, my mother ended the lineage of Catholic marriages. They were brave! Since my mother had the religion of freedom, she didn't baptise me, so that I would have the freedom to choose when I was an adult. I grew up observing the two religions, Judaism and Christianity, my father and grandmother... and my mother's freedom. Freedom and love of nature! Thank you Mum! And freedom gives you love. Love beyond beliefs, rituals, patterns and history. Freedom gives you Universal Love for all beings. I became an adult and didn't choose any religion, I became a yoga teacher, I united the two religions in my heart and created yoga on the heart line. I was born with many gifts: writing, drawing, dancing, feeling, communicating, studying, learning, thinking, questioning, discover, observe, investigate... the marvellous mystery of life. I spent my childhood and youth in Setúbal, in the Serra da Arrábida (Arrabida Mountain) on the beaches bathed by the River Sado and the Atlantic Ocean. From a very early age, I had the clear realisation that through the movement of my body and the interaction of nature and art, my Being transcended into pleasure and well-being. Only later did I discover that I was actually practising yoga, the union of the body: physical, mental and spiritual. I took my degree in Graphic Design in Alto-Minho, but it was in Alto Alentejo that I became a yoga teacher. and it is from the top of the Serra da Arrábida (Arrabida Mountain) that I write these words. Arrábida comes from the Arabic word Al Ribat, which means Place of Prayer. I started teaching yoga in 2010 in the town of Mora in a mainly rural community with a Catholic religion and a communist municipality. I realised that the only language I could use to reach everyone was the language of the heart. It is in this context that Yoga on the Heart Line emerges, yoga that reaches all people, of all ages, all social classes, all cultures, all religions, all lines of yoga. Yoga on the Heart Line has spread throughout the Alentejo. The first classes were held at the House of Arts in Mora, the Pilgrimage Houses in Brotas and the Plátano House in Arraiolos. House? House? House? My mission was visible, to bring everyone back HOME, back to their HEART. MORA has the letters of LOVE (AMOR) in Portuguese. God speaks in synchronicities, the language of the universe.
